Awards
1. Dr. Henry T. Clark, Jr. Award - Outstanding IFC Fraternity - 2006
Voted by the UNC Inter Fraternity Council (the governing body for all UNC fraternities) as Outstanding IFC Fraternity for the 2006-2007 academic year. The Alpha Delta Chapter is consistently recognized as one of the top fraternities on campus and has won this award seven out of the nine years in existence.
2. Upper Alpha Award 2006, 2007, 2008
Established in 1996, the Award recognizes ATO's top Board of Trustees which provides exceptional leadership and service to a chapter. We have one of the best Board of Trustees in the nation that helps us with all aspect of the fraternity. It is because of their efforts that we are such a strong chapter today.
3. Chapter GPA of over 3.0 – 2006, 2007, 2008
4. ATO National True Merit Award 1999 - 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
This is an annual honor received by the top chapters nationwide, and is based on the active brothers’ commitment to community service, campus leadership, Greek leadership, academic achievement, and recruitment efforts among other requirements. Alpha Delta also consistently has been in the running for the Top Chapter Award which it hopes to win this year.
5. ATO National Excellence in Pledge Education Award 2006, 2007, 2008
This annual award is given to worthy chapters that show a commitment to the education process. It shows the chapter has educated the new members about the local chapter’s and national fraternity’s history. We also include innovative ideas such as pledge class projects, alumni networking nights, and Q & A sessions with current leaders in the fraternity.
6. ATO National Excellence in Ritual Award 2006, 2007, 2008
This annual award is given to chapters who hold the traditional ritual experience and uphold the values of the founding fathers. The National Consultant inspects our equipment and process to make sure that all requirements are being followed.
7. ATO National Excellence in Financial Management 2006, 2007, 2008
This annual award is given to the chapter who is able to maintain good financial standing with the National Fraternity and think of innovative ways for members to be held accountable. This is won based on the aptitude of the Treasurer and his ability to budget funds accordingly.
8. ATO National Excellence in Campus Involvement / Leadership Development Award 2006
This annual award is given to chapters who display an understanding of the importance of outside campus involvement and leadership development. We have had 100% outside campus involvement for the past four semesters and attend required and optional leadership workshops throughout the semester through the Inter Fraternity Council and the Carolina Center for Leadership Development.
9. ATO National Excellence in Summer Recruitment Award 2006, 2007, 2008
A first time win for our chapter was based on a successful ATO Beach Weekend. We secured 8 new members through the program and plan to extend the excursion to a week-long event this summer due to alumni support.
10. ATO Excellence in Scholarship Award 2006, 2007, 2008
National award given to chapters who maintain above a 3.0 GPA for an entire academic year.
11. Good Samaritan Community Awareness Award – Honorable Mention 2006
This Award, presented annually by the ATO Foundation, recognizes chapters for exemplary achievement in fostering a spirit of services to others through a well-conceived and implemented chapter social service program. This was given to us because of our Annual Charity Golf Tournament that raised over $5,000 for a village in Tanzania.
12. ATO Excellence in Communication Award 2006, 2007, 2008
Established in 1992, this Award is presented to chapters, which demonstrate excellence in one or more specific areas of chapter communications. This was due to our constant contact with national head quarters and our willingness to host the CEO, Wynn Smiley, during a Carolina Football game.
13. ATO Recruitment Advantage Award 2006
Established in 2003, the Award annually recognizes ATO's chapters that demonstrate an overall excellence in chapter recruitment with a special emphasis on chapter growth, yearlong recruitment and a high level of retention from pledging to initiation. We have consistently had over a 90% retention rate and a very low inactive status population. We get great guys and keep them.
